Luigia Sorrentino




Luigia Sorrentino, nata a Napoli, è una giornalista professionista e poeta. Si è laureata in Giurisprudenza presso l'Università Federico II di Napoli, diventando poi avvocato, ed è stata attrice della Bottega Teatrale di Firenze e delle compagnie GITIESSE Spettacoli e Teatro Segreto, prima di rivolgersi al giornalismo. Vive a Roma.
Attualmente lavora al Giornale Radio della Rai e dirige il blog Poesia, di Luigia Sorrentino – il primo blog di poesia, arte e letteratura della Rai – per Rai News 24. Su Rai Radio Uno ha ideato e condotto Notti d'autore. Viaggio nella vita e nelle opere dei protagonisti del nostro tempo (gennaio-giugno 2013). Sempre per Rai Radio Uno ha ideato e condotto Per il verso giusto. Incontri con i poeti contemporanei (giugno-settembre 2012).
Tra le sue più recenti pubblicazioni di poesia: C’è un padre (Manni, 2003), La cattedrale (Il ragazzo innocuo, 2008), «L’asse del cuore» (Almanacco dello Specchio Mondadori, 2008). La nascita, solo la nascita (Manni, 2009), oltre ad avere avuto un ottimo riscontro di critica, ha ottenuto diversi riconoscimenti, tra i quali i premi Laurentum e Luciana Notari. Olimpia (Interlinea Edizioni, 2013) è la sua ultima raccolta di versi, per la quale ha ricevuto un consistente apprezzamento dalla critica, ha vinto il Premio Gensini per la poesia, il Premio Prata per la poesia in Italia ed è stata finalista del Premio Cetonaverde Poesia, Premio Pontedilegno Poesia, Premio Letterario Camaiore e Premio Letterario Metauro. Nel settembre 2013 The Paris Review ha pubblicato i suoi versi «Two Poems», nella traduzione di Gray Sutherland. Le sue poesie sono state pubblicate in arabo, basco, francese e olandese. Nel novembre 2013, alcune sue composizioni inedite sono uscite su Nuovi Argomenti.

Luigia Sorrentino was born in Naples and lives in Rome. She is an Italian professional journalist and poet. She gratuated in Law from the University of Naples Federico II, and then became a lawyer. She has been an actress of the Bottega Teatrale di Firenze, and of the theater companies GITIESSE Spettacoli and Teatro Segreto, before turning to journalism.
She currently works at RAI's Giornale Radio (radio news) and is the editor of the blog Poesia, di Luigia Sorrentino – RAI's first blog of poetry, art and literature – for Rai News 24. In January-June 2013 for Rai Radio 1 she wrote and anchored Notti d'autore. Viaggio nella vita e nelle opere dei protagonisti del nostro tempo (Authors' Nights: Journey in the lives and works of the protagonists of our times). In June-September 2012, for Rai Radio 1, she wrote and anchored Per il verso giusto. Incontri con i poeti contemporanei (On the right line: Meetings with the contemporary poets).
Some of her most recent poetical works include: C’è un padre (There Is a Father) published by Manni in 2003, La cattedrale (The Cathedral) published by Il ragazzo innocuo in 2008, “L’asse del cuore” anthologised in Almanacco dello Specchio Mondadori (2008). La nascita, solo la nascita (Birth, Birth Only), published by Manni in 2009, received positive reviews, and was awarded the Laurentum Prize, the Luciana Notari Prize, and other prizes. Olimpia is her most recent book of poems (Interlinea Edizioni, 2013). It received very positive reviews, won the Gensini Prize for Poetry, the Prata Prize for Poetry in Italy, and was shorlisted for the Cetonaverde Poetry Award, the Pontedilegno Poetry Award, the Camaiore Literary Award and the Metauro Literary Award. The Paris Review published her “Two Poems” in the 2013 Fall issue, translated by Gray Sutherland. Her poems have been published in Arab, Basque, Dutch and French. In November 2013 some of her new poems have been published in Nuovi Argomenti.
